Branding Isn’t Just4the Outside World

November 21, 2025

Top brands are recognizable just by hearing or reading their name. I say “Target” and you picture a bullseye. I write “Amazon” and your brain conjures the A-Z and the smiley face below it. Sometimes a brand has its an identity all to itself.  The “Golden Arches” or “Swoosh” immediately come to mind as perfect examples.

Before reaching out to the country, your region, your community, or even the base of business you interact with, there is a critical first step in branding.

You can’t expect to ingrain your branding with the whole wide world until those closest to the brand understand what you are about and how you do business, operate, and deliver your product, services, or care. Make sure the people you work with and those closest to them understand exactly what your brand (and, in turn, your company, nonprofit, or medical practice) stands for.

“Internal Branding” is paramount to the development of a strong universal and accepted brand in the marketplace.

Start Close2You to Build True Brand Trust

While all CEOs, executive directors, and owners want brand domination, too many skip an important first step.Building brand trust internally and with those closest to your organization is important. That starts with how you treat your people, how you onboard them, and how youbuild their allegiance as employees over their time. If tens, or hundreds, orthousands of people can clearly communicate what you’re about, how you approacheach other and your clients, and what makes you special, your brand gets traction.

Brand trust is earned, and you start by how you treat those closest to you andall who represent your organization.

Before you take your message to the whole wide world, impress upon yourleadership team and those who are invested in your company the importance ofcaring for the people closest to you: your employees and their closest friendsand family. Then, in your desired circles, you’ll be positioned to be like thebullseye, smiling A-Z, and other brands people think of first when they needyour products and services.
