5Points Creative Designs Wrap For New Valley Metro Electric Bus

Valley Metro revealed Roanoke’s first electric buses on March 25, including one featuring a custom wrap designed by 5Points Creative. The new buses offer eco-friendly and accessible transportation in the Roanoke Valley.

Valley Metro engaged the team at 5Points Creative to design an eye-catching custom bus wrap that celebrates the sustainability of the bus and encapsulates the spirit of the Roanoke Valley. The organization wanted the wrap to excite residents and visitors, inspiring them to try a fully electric mode of public transportation.

“This marks a major step in our commitment to sustainability and the future of public transportation,” Valley Metro General Manger Kevin Price said. “We’re excited to move toward a greener, more connected city.”

Valley Metro Assistant General Manager Ron Parker opened the reveal event, followed by remarks from Price, former Councilwoman Trish White-Boyd, and Mayor Joe Cobb on the impact the fully electric buses will have on the city.

“We are thrilled to unveil Roanoke’s first electric, battery-powered buses,” Parker said. “These new buses will not only reduce our carbon footprint but also enhance quality of life with cleaner, quieter, and more efficient transit options.”

Manufactured by GILLIG in California, three buses were driven cross-country to Roanoke. They are fully battery-powered, chargeable at any standard charging station, and designed to cut emissions while improving service reliability. All three electric buses will eventually share the same exterior design created by 5Points Creative.

“It’s rewarding to see what the graphic designers here at 5Points Creative created with this bus wrap,” Creative Director Kym Ricketts said. “We are always very grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with organizations like Valley Metro and can’t wait to continue working with them.”
